(March 5, 2024) “Meet the Risen Jesus: Around the Fire”

from John 21:1-14

The decision to leave their nets and follow Jesus did not come without a cost for the disciples…but a cost that is worth every bit of what will be left behind in order to experience the fullness of all that life spent walking with Jesus means.

(April 21, 2024) “Meet the Risen Jesus: All Creation”

from Mark 16:9-15

The hope of the resurrection and the call to respond is not relegated to a single day…to a moment of remembrance and celebration once a year. It is a call to realize that an empty tomb means for us a Savior Who is Alive and at work in our midst.

(April 7, 2024) “How Can Jesus Heal You?”

from Mark 2:1-12

Combined Worship Gathering-A Healing Service

These words by Jospeh M. Martin beautifully express both our longing for healing and the hope we find in the One Who is able:

The Healing Place

“There is a longing in the soul; a search for peace and rest, a wound that longs to be made whole, an aching need, an endless quest. Come to the healing place…Though we have many doubts and fears, our lives are filled with pain. We learn to see through falling tears, and then we dare to dream again…When prayers are met with silence, when hope gives way to grief; when trials and tribulations challenge your belief. reach out and touch His mercy; trust in His Word of hope. Your miracle is waiting. You are not alone. There is a place of full release, near to the heart of God; a place where all is joy and peace, near to the loving heart of God. Come to the house of grace. Jesus is waiting.  Jesus is willing. Come, and be restored.”

(March 31, 2024-Easter) “Humility of Jesus: Wounded Healer”

from John 20:24-31

Lent has ended. The Cross stained…the Tomb EMPTY… but still, we are invited to the hopeful reality that He would allow Himself to be subjected to the powers of this world, to the frailty of humanity, to the evil that is at work in this world. We are invited in this season to consider our own frailty, our own weakness…to come to the end of ourselves and hear the invitation of the One Who overcame our weakness as He calls to Himself all Who are weary and heavy laden…the invitation to those who bear wounds to encounter the One risen with wounds…to find hope in the invitation of the Wounded Healer.

(February 11, 2024) “Grace Charged World: Grace Overflowing”

from 1 John 4:7-21

John Wesley defined grace as God’s “bounty, or favour: his free, undeserved favour, … man having no claim to the least of his mercies. It was free grace that ‘formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into him a living soul,’ and stamped on that soul the image of God, and ‘put all things under his feet.’ … For there is nothing we are, or have, or do, which can deserve the least thing at God’s hand.”

For these 5 weeks, we consider Wesley’s deep understanding of God’s grace…His grace that goes before, His grace that saves, His grace that transforms…for the deeper our own understanding of that grace, the more grateful we are to have been offered it and the more willing we are to invite others into the reality of it.
