from Revelation 22:1-5
Seth Lewis writes, “Can you imagine what that garden was like? Can you imagine this world when it was fresh and perfect and every plant and creature existed in harmony? It was the perfect setting for humans to meet with God. And when they met together, they spoke. They conversed, in human language, in a garden full of God’s wonders…But things have changed since the garden – we don’t walk with God today as our first parents did. Eden is gone. Adam and Eve were expelled from it, into the wilderness, where our human race has lived ever since. If we’re going to read the meaning of nature properly, we need to understand this. Our world IS glorious, AND YET IT GROANS…”
There is a promise of renewal…of a new city…a new garden…a renewed relationship. And we have the opportunity every day to be a part of not only telling that story, but being a part of the story of renewal, of rescue…of salvation.
